

Launch Left 4 Dead and when you start a campaign, there will be an option to choose an add-on campaign. Once downloaded, double-click to install them, and that's it. The maps are packaged into what are called. Just make sure you update your copy of Left 4 Dead (you do this simply by logging onto Steam it'll download the update automatically) and then download the map or campaign that you want.

Keep in mind that many of these maps and campaigns are still in development and a bit unpolished the developers are still early in the mapmaking process. The maps and campaigns listed below aren't the best of the best, but they're the ones that have caught our eye thus far. The software developer kit that allows users to create maps and campaigns was released in beta form earlier this year, so that meant by the team Valve released last week's update, there were dozens upon dozens of campaigns and maps in development. Last week, Valve released an update for the PC version of Left 4 Dead that allows you to play user-created maps and campaigns. But if you're looking for something fresh and original, you won't have to wait for Left 4 Dead 2 to ship later this year. You probably know every corner in No Mercy, as well as the best camping spots in Dead Air, and so on. If you're a Left 4 Dead fan, you've probably played through Valve's four official campaigns about a hundred times over by now.
